Tim is the owner of Zocalo Coffeehouse in San Leandro. Though his cafe is not far from home, I found him on Cafe Fanatic, which is based in New York. Just goes to show that great coffee travels well.

I prefer shooting black and white, I like dealing with the composition and contrast.
Blue Bottle, this one was the Mint St location, has the best espresso in SF as far as I am concerned. Unsurprisingly, they make espresso that I find extremely similar to ours at Zocalo Coffeehouse.
This shot was taken on an espresso hop trip we took. We visited about 7 coffee shops, from Blue Bottle to Philz to Four Barrel to RadioCat Cafe. A wide variety of experiences. The only one I would return to, however, is Blue Bottle.
Originally, I had intended to write up the whole trip, but felt if I did I might face the wrath of the other coffee places.
