390. beginning and end

Leslie Flores, San Francisco CA.

Leslie is one of my oldest friends (not to say that she’s old) and a spectacular person, as well as a talented artist. While she’s a tea drinker, she’s been willing to cross to the dark side with an occasional cup of coffee for this blog. Because that’s what friends do, y’know. Leslie  is married to another one of our dear friends, illustrator Mark Ulriksen and makes some great wallets and other goodies from Mark’s work…check it out here.

388. mother’s day strawberries and coffee

Elle Mansfield, Nevada City, CA.

“A child is never too old…and never too far away…to remember Mother’s Day. My 22-year-old son is serving in the Army in Afghanistan, and a dozen giant, chocolate-dipped, gorgeous strawberries arrived from him via FedEx today. Perhaps the best part was the note, which read: Happy Mother’s Day, Mommy, from your little boy.”

Elle is a writer and my favorite fashionista friend (despite my own lack of fashionistianess). Elle’s company is Mansfield Ink,  and her fashion blog is Elle Ink.

Happy Mother’s Day to Elle, and the rest of our caffeinated moms. And traveling mercies to Marco.
