Mothertalk—the scrape on my son’s left elbow is a remnant from when he was doored while cycling to work earlier this summer. It was a busy street. He hit the ground. Many things bent or broke but not him. Yes he was wearing a helmet—-helmet has been replaced. Yes Kate and an aftercoming vehicle both stopped safely without running over him. Yes still riding his bike. Be alert people!
