1000 cups of coffee, one photo at a time
We all know 1000 is coming, but I am just not quite ready to close up shop. Plus, I had an incredible cup of coffee on my trip to Portland, Oregon this week that really deserved to be documented.
This was from a delightful and delicious kiosk (well, the kiosk was delightful and the coffee was delicious) called Sterling Coffee Roasters. If you’re in the Alphabet District, seek them out. It will make you happy, and delightful, and most definitely delicious. And tomorrow…1000.
Easter brunch at Tra Vigne in St. Helena in Napa Valley. Celebrated Alex and Ian’s future at Oregon State and Tufts…we all agreed that the Mozzarella Cheese “Al Minuto” was life changing. It was really, really wonderful. The rest of our meal was delicious…but that cheese, made just that moment, was just incredible. This is the end of our regularly scheduled programming…we’re not to 1000 yet, but we have something special planned for the grand finale. Come back tomorrow…In the meantime, I wonder if I can do a 1000 days of cheese blog?

My coffee drinking friends at the studio. Just trying to get everyone in on the action before the project ends. 4:00 on a gloomy, busy and distracted Thursday afternoon.
In reality, it’s my studio coffee mug on top of my filing cabinet. But in my imagination it’s my inner happy dance that Alex is headed to Oregon State University in the fall. Not that I am happy she’s leaving, but I am delighted for the adventure that is ahead for her. I will wear orange and black, but I don’t think I will ever be able to wear a shirt that says “Beaver Mom.” I do have my limits.
I had to give up and give in. The experiment is over. I need more than three cups of coffee in a day. I need more than three cups in the morning. I suspect I need three cups just to be able to speak. Pathetic, but truthful.
Second cup at the studio. This is where I (foolishly) believed this is all I would need for the day. What was I thinking?
It’s a happy day at Tackett+Barbaria, our new cards just arrived. Strong coffee, pithy quotes and good paper. What more does one need?
