I’ve been saving this photo for a morning when it would be really, really, really nice for someone else to do the coffee and the dishes. From Christine of Homemade in China. “When my brother and I were young (and sometimes even now), my mother would get us “boo boo presents.” It could be anything (stuffed animal, toy, stickers, etc.). The idea was that maybe you just needed a little something special to make you feel a little better.
Today my mother is having her second surgery, so this morning I made her these Lemon Love Buns (is that not the best name EVER?!). They are heart-shaped, flecked with lemon zest and covered with sparkling sugar. Perfect with a hot, dainty cup of Joe.
When my Mom gets home from the hospital, these will be waiting.”
Also from Trenton, this time road tripping in Portland OR. “This photo was taken at Tasty n’ Sons, in the up and coming Mississippi neighborhood. On the side is a delicious sweet biscuit with blueberries compote and a very thick whipped cream.”

“This morning, in honor of National Coffee Break Day, I ate cookies for breakfast with my babies and then tip-toed out to snap some photos of the full moon setting, while my son “howled at the moon.” It seemed appropriate, and it gave me the little boost I needed.”
We’re still drinking coffee in Palm Springs, with Kevin and Chip. Well, we aren’t really….but we wish we were.
