I love working with my husband, and I love it even more when he suggests we leave our desks and walk down the street for afternoon coffee. Mishka’s Cafe, Davis CA.
206. thankful for coffee
From Natalie, South Korea (how cool is that?). And of course there’s a story.
“currently, i find myself fresh out of university. since jobs were few to be found and adventure called my name, my best friend and i headed out to south korea, to teach english to elementary students. upon arriving here…much to our horror…the coffee situation is quite limited. i mean, the selection of beans to by, coming by a grinder…has proved to have its difficulties. we have somehow managed. our mothers, even sent us our favorite brews from home for christmas. but one wonderful thing about korea is, each and every coffee shop here has the most amazing talent to make possibly the best, most astounding, mouth-watering, pulse- stopping latte i have ever sipped. and the beauty of their creation in a small cup, is even better!
this picture was taken in november, after a full day of working with my young students, teaching them about the American holiday, Thanksgiving. after a long day of teaching, i treated myself to a warm latte and browsing through the pile of 200 handcrafted hand-turkeys created by my students.”
Natalie is keeping two blogs about her adventure, emanation (with her best friend, Micaela) and life in color. I promise you, if you visit, you will lose yourself in them.
I am feeling more thankful already.
198. hip to be square
Suzy Eynon, Seattle, WA. Suzy took this photo at Buchanan’s Coffee Pub in Boulder, Colorado in 2008 while she was attending school there. Her blog is Holding Hands with Strangers (which I think is an awesome blog name, don’t you?).
141. for the love of coffee } chapter 20
102. rainy day coffee
Deirdre is from Hudson Valley, New York and she enjoyed this cup at Ralph’s Pretty Good Cafe in Chatham, NY. More than pretty good, I’d say. Deirdre’s even more interesting Flickr site is here.
99. latte art
Another lovely latte from Kristine in Oklahoma. “This was at a small coffee shop in Norman, OK called Grey Owl Coffee. We stayed in that coffee shop for at least 2 hours. It was a nice summer day and what do you do? Sit outside and talk with friends and sip your coffee…” when she’s not hanging out drinking coffee, Kristine is the talent of Blue Elephant Photography. As an aside, why can’t I get a latte this pretty in Davis?
98. simple joy
From Kristine of Blue Elephant Photography. “Appreciating the simple joys of life ~ lunch with Scott at Aspen Coffee Company. Thank you Aspen for being awesome.” Stick around, you’ll be seeing a little more of Kristine’s coffee love in the next few days.
94. the fabulous finale
92. haute coffee
91. fashionably latte
One of four, from my stylish and sophisticated friend, Elle Mansfield. She’s a sneaky one, that Elle, and managed to capture these artful cups without me (like she has other friends, or something). Besides enjoying lovely lattes, Elle writes a fashion blog. Valentina’s, Grass Valley, CA.
