Good friends let you take pictures of them and never complain. This is my good friend Vicki. At Temple Coffee in Sacramento. And I promise, this is the last of the espresso tasting class photos!

From Leslie Flores, San Francisco CA. This was a celebration for our mutual friend, Monica. Nothing like a little birthday coffee (or tea!) to start the day.

Who am I kidding? It’s all about the foam. And the friends, of course. Afternoon coffee with Eden at Cafe Bernardo. French fries and cappuccino on the patio. Davis, CA.

Craig Jenkins, Austin, Texas. I grew up with Craig, and he played the role of best friend/big brother for me in high school (though he claims to be a year younger than I am). I don’t remember any coffee we’ve shared, but I know we’ve had a beer or twelve.

I’ve been following my friend Leslie Flores for over thirty years to see what she does…buttons, old luggage, vintage books, bottle caps, clothing, cooking, and especially photos. She’s always a step ahead of the rest of us. Can’t wait to see what she does with this.

Thrift store shopping with eleven women is exhausting….coffee required. Love that we can sit outside on a January afternoon. I’ll have to remember that in July.

Friday afternoon lunch at Il Fornaio, Sacramento, CA. Pondering life and the future, with butternut squash raviolis and a cappuccino, followed by the purchase of a red leather purse at 50% off. A promising start to the weekend, I’d say.

Palm Springs, CA. From Kevin Cahill, one of my favorite people on the planet. Kevin was making good coffee back when we were students in Chico. And he knew how to serve it….strong and dark, in thick mugs, accompanied by the Sunday San Francisco Chronicle and enjoyed with a house full of friends.
